Dear Rhode Islander,
In January 2014, the Affordable Care Act will finally make sure that 30 million more Americans have access to health care.
And I’m glad to say that many of the ACA provisions that will lower costs and improve quality of care, have already gone into effect.
Here are a few of the ways that the Affordable Care Act is already helping Rhode Islanders:
- Many insurance providers are now required to offer you free preventive services. To learn more, click here.
- The Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Hole is currently closing and will completely close in 2020. To see a map of the 2011 savings by Rhode Island zip code, click here.
- Children can now stay on their parent’s health care plans until age 26.
- You can view the full timeline of the ACA provisions here.
As we approach the Fall 2013 enrollment, I wanted to make sure that you, your family, and your business are aware of some key resources.
