Senators Perdue, Whitehouse Force Senate To Acknowledge Broken Budget Process

Bipartisan amendment highlights need for new budget process

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators David Perdue (R-GA) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), both members of the Senate Budget Committee, made the following statement on their bipartisan amendment to the FY2018 budget:

“Only four times in the past 43 years has this budget process actually funded the federal government. Finding common ground to develop a real budget should be a bipartisan effort, and that’s why we’re fighting to fix it.”
