She joins a long tradition of leaders who have helped shape the Rhode Island State Police into one of the most well-respected police forces in the nation. Rhode Island has a superb law enforcement community, from the leadership of the Providence Police and a strong corps of other municipal chiefs, to the professionals at the Department of Attorney General, to our excellent U.S. Attorney’s office. I welcome Colonel Assumpico to her new leadership role in that statewide community, and wish her well.”
