I am happy to offer internships in both my Providence and Washington, D.C. Senate offices. These internships are open to college-aged students, with preference given to Rhode Island residents.
Interns will be introduced to the legislative process through a variety of duties, including maintaining correspondence with constituents, conducting policy research, and assisting in the day-to-day operations of my office. Interns in the Washington, D.C. office will also be responsible for hosting tours of the Capitol complex for visiting Rhode Islanders, attending briefings and congressional hearings, and assisting our press office.
Internships are available on both a full- and part-time basis during both the summer and the school year. Our office is an equal opportunity employer and offers paid internships to accepted applicants who will not receive funding through their college/university or an outside program.
We have separate application portals for each office. Using the forms below, please apply to the respective portal for the office you’re interested in:
Note that you will be asked to provide us with a cover letter, a copy of your resume, a one to two-page writing sample, and one letter of recommendation. You must submit all necessary materials to complete your application.
The application period for Fall 2023 is now closed.
Applications for Spring 2024 internships are now being accepted. The application deadline for Spring 2024 internships is 11:59pm on Friday, November 10th.
